Scales
This a slow rock style groove in the key of G Mixolydian.  Just think of it as the G scale, but starting on the fifth scale degree (D).  D-E-F#-G-A-B-C-D.  Note that there is only one sharp(F#).  This makes it different from the key of D, which has 2 sharps (F#&C#).  We've included the D Major scales for this one, in the "Scales" box to the left.  As long you remember to play C natural, as opposed to C sharp, you should be fine.  Playing inside the G major scale will of course work just as well too (we just didn't have enough room in that little blue box to include everything, see the guitar scales section for the G scales and more).  You can also play with the Dm Pentatonic scale to give it a little bluesy tone, which we have included in the "Scales" section.  Have fun mixing and matching these scales! The Format is: A-A-A-A-A (you get the picture!)
